Description
Swanson’s artworks often depict daily rituals–sometimes focusing on them, sometimes juxtaposing them with moments better known for other events. One daily ritual that was common for most of his life was reading a newspaper. In this poster, he combined images from Morning Scenes (A suite of mixed printing methods, 1979) and from his sketchbook with messages from Nelson Mandela, Pope Francis, Isaiah, and the Prayer of Reconciliation (which he also used in the poster Women Writing).
